Starry Night

"Starry Night" @ flickr.com
This pano is the result of shooting the perseids but unfortunately didn't capture any of them this year, so i just have to do it again next year!

More astrophotography and vertical panoramas coming in the coming weeks/months, just need to wait for some clear sky.

Return Of Summer

"Return Of Summer" @ Flickr.com
The day was completely grey. I wouldn't have thought that the evening would give one of the most splendid shows what comes to sunsets. Even couple of hours before sunset sky was still quite gray. Colors started to pop just before the sun started to set.

16 shot panorama made with Genesis IR-64 panorama plate. With the Genesis panorama plate it's really easy to make panoramas like this, highly recommended gear!

Days End

Beach was swarmed with mosquitoes, but i did survive! One of the best sunsets so far during this summer.

About 50 second exposure to get smooth reflection. I used Haida Slim ND 3.0 (nd1000) MC Pro II filter. Very good filter with only mild color shift which you can easily fix in post-processing. I do my post-processing in Lightroom 6.5.

Shooting nature and landscape

I've been doing nature photography for about three years now and this is my story so far.

It all started with 50mm lens and some extension tubes. Macro and close-ups were something that i just naturally started doing when i started my photography hobby three years ago.
Veins

After i got my first "real" camera i thought that i would have to start using fully manual lens to be able to understand photography better. I decided to use 50mm f/1.8 lens the following 1,5 years. I did also use extension tubes with the 50mm lens, but no other lenses during that period. After that 1,5 years i just had enough! I need more lenses!

Three years has passed and i've been shooting with 5 different lenses in my backpack and i've just had enough! Theres too many lenses!
Since i've changed into full frame cameras it's time to do something about all these lenses. I've been thinking about my focal lenght requirements and now have made these following conclusions.

The next year, or two, im going to shoot with these focal lenghts:
  • 17mm for landscapes
  • 105mm for macro/landscapes/portrait
  • 70-200mm for landscape/portrait/closeups
Lakescape
Hopefully with this lens setup i could concentrate my efforts with compositions, without all the hassle with lenses and extension tubes and so on... Still, there's nothing wrong with extension tubes, i could use them all day, or two, but it's time to change.

 Too Many
